Harpsichord Day in Ann Arbor. Ed Parmentier played for about 3 hours, his students gave concerts and free lessons at the same time. There was also a fretted clavicord to try. This instrument is based on an 18th Century Dulcken.

Stained Glass at Woodlawn
Ancient Egyptian style mausoleums were quite popular in this area. The collection of artifacts at the nearby Toledo Museum of Art may have influenced that, along with a general interest in Egyptian Revival art . The stained glass doesn’t necessarily carry on the same theme.

In 2010 we took a trip to Wisconsin, and visited Door Bluff Headlands park. I don’t have any idea who arranged the rocks, but it was amazingly elaborate. It’s my guess that the whole thing would be destroyed by winter storms.

Most of the beech trees at Woodlawn are huge, and the trunks look especially ancient.
